Chatham-Kent Police have charged a 42-year-old Ridgetown man in connection with an alleged domestic assault.
Apparently police went looking for the man Friday but he wasn’t home. The woman who answered the door however had two black eyes and other injuries. The woman refused to assist police when questioned about the bruises and sent the officer away.
Officers returned to the Ridgetown home again Saturday, but the woman again refused assistance. Authorities say she implied that she was being abused by the man she was living with and were able to gather enough evidence to identify him and build a domestic assault case.
The woman wouldn’t provide a formal statement, or cooperate to have photographs taken.
