A traffic stop has led to an impaired driving charge for a Raleigh Township man.
The Ontario Provincial Police said an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Talbot Trail near Charing Cross Road, at around 4:40 p.m. on Saturday.
The officer conducted a roadside screening test, which registered a fail, and the driver was arrested and taken to the local OPP detachment for further tests.
As a result, the 47-year-old accused is now charged with driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit. He was also issued a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and his vehicle will be impounded for seven days.
The man has since been released with a March court date.
