A Glencoe man is facing impaired driving charges following a two-vehicle crash just outside of Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to the crash on Longwoods Road near Caledonia Road at around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, and learned one of the drivers had fled the scene.
The vehicle was located and pulled over a short distance away on Darrell Road.
Believing the driver was intoxicated, he was arrested and taken to police headquarters where his refused to provide a breath sample.
As a result, the 56-year-old is now charged with failing to stop at a collision, refusing to comply with a demand, impaired driving, and several other Liquor Licence and Control Act offences. He was later released with a future court date.
