An early morning traffic stop has landed impaired driving charges for a Sarnia man.

Around 1 o’clock Tuesday morning, a Lambton OPP officer on general patrol spotted a suspected impaired driver on Highway 40, north of LaSalle Line in St Clair Township.

The vehicle was stopped and the accused, a 21-year-old Sarnia resident, was arrested and charged with several offences under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and the Liquor Licence and Control Act, including driving while impaired by alcohol and drugs, speeding, and dangerous driving.

The man was issued a 90 day license suspension and had his vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused was released from custody and will appear in court in Sarnia next month.
