A Windsor man has been arrested after a local woman was scammed out of thousands of dollars.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to a Grand Avenue West address in June after an elderly woman was defrauded over $20,000 in a grandparent scam, where the scammer posed as a family member needing help.
A 23-year-old man was arrested in Windsor on an outstanding warrant on Monday in connection with the investigation.
The accused was later released from custody with a December court date. His charges have not been released.
