
A suspect has been arrested following a shoplifting incident at a retail store in Wallaceburg.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said a woman entered the store on McNaughton Avenue on Wednesday, selected several items and left without paying.
Officers were called to the store at around 2:30 p.m. and were provided a description of the woman and her vehicle.
Later that day, officers located and arrested a suspect on Murray Street in Chatham.
A 50-year-old Chatham woman is now charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property under $5,000. She was later released from custody with a future court date.
