Police have tracked down an alleged thief following a shoplifting incident in Chatham in early last month.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said a woman stole merchandise from a retail store on Grand Avenue West on March 8.
Officers reviewed the store’s surveillance footage, identified a suspect and issued a warrant for her arrest.
The 53-year-old woman was located and arrested on Heritage Road in Chatham on Saturday at around 10:30 a.m. She was charged with theft and possession of stolen property, and was held in custody for a bail hearing.
