Charges have been laid against a Chatham woman after a shoplifting incident over the weekend.
According to Chatham-Kent Police, the accused tried to steal a couple of items from the Dollarama at the Downtown Chatham Centre Saturday morning.
However, when she was stopped by store security, the woman allegedly punched and threatened the security officer.
She was then handed over to Chatham-Ken Police, who found she was carrying a pair of knives.
Charges include theft, assault, and uttering threats.
