
A local woman is facing charges following a shoplifting incident in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said a woman entered a retail store on Wellington Street West shortly before 6 p.m. on Tuesday, selected some merchandise and left without making an attempt to pay.
Police were notified, and a suspect was located a short distance away.
As a result, a 30-year-old Chatham-Kent woman has been arrested and charged with failing to comply with a release order, theft under $5,000, and possession of stolen property under $5,000.
She was held in custody for a bail hearing.
