A Chatham-Kent man who reported a break-and-enter to police has now been charged in connection with the crime.
Shortly before 7 Wednesday morning, Chatham-Kent Police received a pair of complaints about an insecure property on St Clair Street near Grand Avenue in Chatham. Officers arrived to find the door to a vacant apartment had been kicked in.
Authorities say further investigation, including evidence left at the scene and details provided by one of the complainants suggested the initial caller to police was responsible.
A 48-year-old man has been arrested and charged with break and enter. He was released with conditions and a date in court next month.
