Officials with the Lambton Kent District School Board are taking an alleged threat very seriously.
The board was made aware of an alleged threat directed at Great Lakes Secondary School. Officials say Sarnia Police searched the property and deemed the school safe to open, saying they are not concerned that the threat was legitimate.
As a precaution, Sarnia Police and the LKDSB safe schools coordinator will remain on site for the duration of the school day to ensure everyone’s safety.
Officials with the board say the safety and well-being of staff, students, and the school community is their highest priority, and they will continue working closely with police to ensure a supportive learning environment for everyone.
