The Alvinston Indians say they’re doing what the pros won’t – changing their name. 
The minor baseball team have been called the Indians for 60 years, but say the name is disrespectful to First Nations communities and it’s time for a change
The Alvinston Minor Ball Association has launched a fundraising page to collection donations to help fund a rebranding – including new uniforms, equipment, and signs at the ballpark.
Some of the names up for consideration include the Aces – the team’s former name, along with the Buzz or Jr Jays.
So far the team has raised over $10,800 towards its goal of $29,000.
