The Alzheimer’s Society of Chatham-Kent is setting its sights high for its main fundraiser.
Fund Development Coordinator Joel Emery says they’re hoping to raise $50,000 with this year’s Walk for Alzheimer’s.
“One misconception out there is any donations or funds that come to us might get sent to a head office, or Toronto or somewhere else, that’s not the case,” says Emery. “All funds we receive at the walk and outside the walk go directly to our community. So that’s Chatham-Kent.”
The walk is being held Saturday, May 30th at the Chatham-Kent Civic Centre.
Registration is now open. Paper pledge forms can be picked up at the CKXS Studio on James Street in Wallaceburg or the Alzheimer’s Society office on Memory Lane in Chatham. You can also register online at walkforalzheimers.ca.
Last year’s event brought in $35,000 for the Chatham-Kent organization.
