A contingent of local officials are in Windsor for this week’s Association of Municipalities of Ontario conference. 
Wallaceburg Councillor Carmen McGregor says the conference provides a great opportunity to speak to provincial officials about local issues, but also a chance to network with colleagues from other municipalities.
“As a councillor, unless you’re actually going and talking and getting out there, you don’t really have the opportunity to find out what’s going on in other municipalities,” McGregor says. “Often you can pick up thing and bring back that are working really well in other communities that really hadn’t crossed your mind, but is worth investigating when you get back.”
McGregor will be attending several sessions over the next few days, including a meeting the Energy Minister this week, and a chance to discuss the Sydenham hospital issue with the Association of Medical Officers of Health.
