The proposed new animal shelter will return to council on Monday, in a revised form, and a new sticker price.
After construction costs came back higher than expected, a new option was developed to help cut some corners.
Instead of a 7,300 square foot build, the new plan is for 6,200 square feet. The removal of things like extra storage, some parking spots and some kennels will shave the costs from $2.9-million to $2.3-million.
Even with the reduced price, council is being asked for another $820,000, on top of the $560,000 already committed.
Council will debate the funding and project scope on Monday.
