Even as cases of COVID decline across the community, another Chatham-Kent resident has lost their life to the virus.
In today’s weekly report, Public Health officials say a man in his 70s passed away, bringing to 77 the number of local residents who have died as a result of COVID-19.
Between May 29th and June 4th, 41 high risk cases were identified, leaving the seven-day average at six new cases a day.
Three new outbreaks have been declared in the past week, including a congregate living setting and two group homes.
Chatham-Kent’s COVID positivity rate sits at 8.7%, slightly higher than the provincial rate of 8.5%.
