Another Chatham-Kent resident has lost their life to COVID-19.
According to the latest report from Chatham-Kent Public Health on Monday, the municipality recorded its seventh death in the last week after a woman in her 90s passed away over the weekend. A total of 41 Chatham-Kent residents have passed away from COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
There are currently 12 active outbreaks within Chatham-Kent — five linked to local group homes, seven at long-term care and retirement homes, and another in the dialysis unit at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.
The CKHA is currently treating 14 patients for the virus.
The current seven-day rolling average case count now sits at 64 per day with 164 confirmed infections being reported today.
