Another Chatham-Kent resident has lost their life to COVID-19. 

The most recent death, included in today’s weekly update from Public Health, brings the total number of lives lost to the virus to 78 since the pandemic began. 

Public Health officials say between June 12th and the 18th, 11 new high risk cases were confirmed, lowering the average number of new cases a day to just two. 

Chatham-Kent’s positivity rate now sits at 2.3%, compared to the provincial rate of 7%. 

There is just one active outbreak in the municipality at a group home where there have been eight linked cases since May 31st.
