Another COVID Patient Has Died at CKHA

One more person has died from COVID-19 in Chatham-Kent.

Chief Medical Officer Dr. David Colby says the latest victim was a 91-year-old Chatham-Kent man who had been living at home until he became sick.

Four Chatham-Kent residents have now died as a result of the virus since the pandemic began in March.

CKHA CEO Lori Marshall says there are still 9 COVID positive patients in hospital being treated for the virus, two in ICU, one in the progressive care unit, and five in the medical/COVID unit.

Chatham-Kent’s COVID numbers have inched up slightly with 14 new infections today. Combined with 9 recoveries, that brings the number of total active cases to 124. Another local resident is now in hospital being treated for the virus. And another outbreak has been declared in a congregate living setting.

An uptick in provincial numbers with 3326 new cases being reported today along with 62 deaths linked to the virus.

Four more people have died in Windsor-Essex because of COVID-19. The health unit also announced another 216 new infections today.

And the active cases in Lambton County continue to drop, down to 229 today. That’s with 23 new infections and 55 recoveries.
