Police are investigating after another rainbow flag was stolen from a Chatham-Kent school during Pride month.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said sometime between Friday and Monday, an unknown person or persons damaged the locking mechanism on the flagpole at Wheatley Area Public School and removed the Pride flag.
This is the second time a rainbow flag has been stolen from a local school as the community marks Pride Month in June. Police said the Pride flag was also stolen off of the flag pole at Tilbury District High School sometime between June 17 and 19.
Police officials said they are taking both matters seriously and officers are committed to investigating these incidents thoroughly.
