It appears the province is preparing to crack down even harder to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and help keep ICU numbers down.

Reports say the Ford government is about to level another stay-at-home order, including the closure of non-essential retail and further restrictions on big box stores, ordering them to shut down any aisles that don’t offer essential products.

It comes after calls from public health officials in COVID hotspots of Toronto, Peel, and Ottawa, saying the shutdown announced last week doesn’t go far enough.

The new rules are expected to be officially announced later today.
