Another three Chatham-Kent residents have lost their lives to COVID-19.
Two women and a man in their 80s have succumbed to the virus since Wednesday. A total of 69 Chatham-Kent residents have now died from COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
In it’s latest update on Friday, Chatham-Kent Public Health reported 99 new high risk cases of COVID-19, brining the seven day average to 27 new cases per day.
There are currently seven active outbreaks across the municipality — four at group homes, one at Copper Terrace long-term care home, one at Village on the Thames, and another at Oaks Retirement Village. An outbreak in the Continuing Care Unit at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance was declared over on Friday.
There are 21 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, down from 22 on Wednesday. Seven of those patients are being treated primarily for the virus. Four COVID positive patients are being treated in critical care beds in the hospital’s Progressive Care Unit.
