The number of active cases of COVID-19 has dropped once again, thanks to over two dozen patients recovering from the virus.

Chatham-Kent Public Health is reporting 18 new infections today and 28 cases resolved. Four people have died from the virus since the pandemic began, including a 91-year-old man who passed away at the Health Alliance yesterday.

The number of workplace outbreaks has grown by one, bringing the total to nine across Chatham-Kent. However, public health isn’t releasing any details.

Another seven people have died from the virus in Windsor-Essex. The region’s health unit is also reporting 171 new infections today.

Lambton County’s active caseload has dipped to 216, down 13 from yesterday. There are 26 new cases being reported, balanced out by an additional 37 recoveries.

And province-wide, the Ministry of Health is reporting 2998 new cases of COVID-19. There are also 100 new deaths being reported, but official say 46 of those are part of a so-called ‘data cleanup’ and happened earlier in the pandemic.
