Time is running out to apply for the chance to shape the future of health care in Wallaceburg.
Friday is the deadline for community members to submit an application for a position on a building community advisory committee, which will provide input on redevelopment plans for the Wallaceburg site of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.
CKHA President and CEO Lori Marshall said the hospital is looking for two community representatives from the Wallaceburg area to provide their unique “outlook and spin” on the design.
“The ideal candidate is someone from Wallaceburg who understands the needs of the community [and] understands the needs of the health care community,” said Marshall. “We are really looking for people to round out the perspectives at the table to help us build the best facility we can.”
The committee will also be comprised of hospital officials and other interested stakeholders.
Marshall said the group will meet two to three times before the end of the fall to review proposed development plans from architects and designers.
“This isn’t just about tweaking and making some new areas of the hospital. It really is helping us to think about what health care in the future is going to look like and how are people going to want to access those services. And then let’s make sure the Wallaceburg site is an example for the rest of the province,” she said.
Anyone interested in applying to be a part of the committee is asked to submit a resume to Aaron Ryan, VP of Performance and CFO, at [email protected].
