Small start-up businesses in Chatham-Kent are getting a hand up.
Kristy Jacobs with the Workforce Planning Board the application process for the micro-lending program needed a tune-up.
“The feedback we got was that it was quite a lengthy application form, and that people would start into it, and there were many pieces to it, so many people wouldn’t finish filling it out. By streamlining it and by having staff support them through the process, we’re hoping we’ll get more completed applications”, Jacobs says.
Qualifying entrepreneurs can receive a low-interest loan of up to $5,000 to help get their new business up and running.
