An argument between two women in Wallaceburg has led to charges after one of them was assaulted.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a Wallace Street home at around 11 p.m. on Tuesday for a disturbance.

Authorities said two women had been arguing when things escalated and one of them attempted to close herself in a separate room. However, the other woman pushed her way into the room and assaulted the victim,

A suspect was located and arrested when officers arrived at the scene.

A 23-year-old Wallaceburg woman is now charged with one count of assault. She was taken to police headquarters and released with conditions and a December court date.
