Early Saturday morning, a man walked into the 7-11 on Grand Avenue West in Chatham with a bandana covering his face, carrying a sawed-off rifle, and demanded money from the cashier.
However, when he discovered there was nothing in the till, he left empty-handed.
After crossing St Clair Street, police say the accused fired a shot from the gun, which passed through a second floor bedroom window on Joseph Street, but luckily no one was hurt.
Police tracked down the accused Tuesday night, and have charged a 21-year-old man with robbery with a weapon, wearing a disguise with intent, and various weapons offences.
