The months-long rehabilitation project on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg is entering the home stretch.

Municipal officials say today marks the start of the final phase of the almost $12-million project with a number of traffic disruptions expected over the next few months.

Arnold Street will be closed at the intersection with Dufferin today through October 13th, and drivers can expect continued lane reductions on Dufferin from Walnut Drive to McNaughton through December 1st.

Drivers are encouraged to plan travel in advance, consider alternate routes, follow signage and be patient while traveling in and around construction areas.

Construction crews are working on the reconstruction of storm sewers and watermain pipes, rehabilitation of the asphalt road, reconstruction of existing sidewalks, traffic signals, and boulevard restoration.

Work on underground pipes, road and sidewalk work is expected to be finished in December, with boulevard restoration to be completed next spring.
