Arrest Made After Youth Assaulted Several Times

A local man is facing charges after a youth was assaulted multiple times in Chatham.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a disturbance at a Forest Street home at around 11 p.m. on Sunday, after an argument between a man and a youth escalated into violence.

Authorities said the youth was assaulted multiple times, however, he did not require medical attention. His attacker left the residence before officers arrived.

Following an investigation, a warrant was issued for the arrest of a 35-year-old Chatham man.

The accused was located and arrested on Curran Crescent just before 11 p.m. on Monday. He was charged with two counts of assault causing bodily harm and later released with a March court date.
