An arrest has been made following a pair of attacks in Chatham.
According to Chatham-Kent Police, the accused walked up to a stranger on King Street around 6:30 last night and began assaulting him while trying to steal his cigarettes.
A good Samaritan called police, the victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect fled, but then attacked another stranger on Barthe Street – in that case the victim wasn’t hurt.
The accused was eventually found on Grand Avenue and taken into custody.
The 26-year-old is charged with robbery and assault and was held for a bail hearing.
