Charges have been laid following a weekend stand-off.

Around 9 o’clock Saturday night, Chatham-Kent Police were called to a residential building on Grand Avenue West following a report of a man who had barricaded himself inside his home and was making threats toward police.

Members of the Emergency Response Team arrived and blocked off the road between Keil Drive and Collegiate Drive. Officers negotiated with the man for roughly seven hours before being able to make their way into the home and arrest the suspect.

The 40-year-old Chatham man has been charged with uttering threats and was held in custody.
