One person has been arrested in connection to a suspicious death on Walpole Island First Nation.
Emergency crews responded to a disturbance at a home on River Road just before 1:30 Monday morning. Officers arrived to find an injured individual, who was later pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released the type of injuries the victim suffered from.
One person was taken into custody without incident. While investigators believe this was an isolated incident. There is expected to be an increased police presence in the area as the investigation continues.
The Walpole Island Police Service and Lambton County OPP Crime Unit are conducting the investigation, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
