An arrest has been made in connection with the assault and attempted robbery of a Chatham cab driver several months ago.
Chatham-Kent police this morning arrested 51 year old Stuart Sworin of Queen St. in connection with the incident February 25th.
Police say the driver for Courtesy Cabs picked up a fare on Pine St. about 6 am. When they reached the intersection of Eugenie and John, the man asked the driver to stop.
He then assaulted the driver and demanded cash.
When the driver refused the man jumped out and ran off. Forensic evidence connected the suspect to the crime according to police.
He was arrested Friday morning and charged with robbery. He was released with an August court date.
