An arrest has been made in connection to an incident in Chatham over the weekend.

Police were initially called Saturday about a domestic disturbance at a home on Wellington Street. Authorities say a man and woman were involved in an argument when the man allegedly threated to harm the woman and pushed her.

A family member allegedly tried to intervene and was also threatened and assaulted.

The fight then moved outside, where place say the man spat at and shoved the relative.

The accused left the scene before officers arrived. The 42-year-old Bothwell man then turned himself into police Monday morning.

He’s now facing charges of two counts of uttering threats and four counts of assault.
