Charges have been laid after a stabbing at the Pain Court Tractor Pull sent one man to hospital.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to the event at around 10 p.m. on Friday after an argument between two men turned violent.

The incident escalated when one of the men stabbed the other with a knife. The victim was taken to hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The other man fled the scene but a suspect was later located on Erie Street in Merlin.

The 36-year-old accused from Chatham is now charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The man was bound by conditions not to possess any weapons and is additionally charged with failing to comply with a release order. He was held pending a bail hearing.
