Police have arrested one suspect and are looking for another after several child support payments were stolen in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said child support cheques were stolen from a woman in Chatham between June 2020 and August 2020 and then cashed.
Police began an investigation into the theft back in February of 2021 and on Monday, officers arrested a 33-year-old Chatham woman. She has been charged with theft of mail and fraud-related offences.
Police have also issued an arrest warrant for a 36-year-old man of no fixed address in connection with the investigation.
