An arrest has been made in connection with the theft of a vehicle, which was stolen nearly seven years ago.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers began an investigation in June 2023 after the vehicle was found abandoned in a garage on Coatsworth Avenue in Chatham.
Authorities were able to identify the man who parked the vehicle and confirmed that it had been reported stolen in LaSalle on September 3, 2017.
When the accused could not be located, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
The man turned himself in at police headquarters on Monday. He is now charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000. He has since been released with conditions and a future court date.
