Arrested After Snoozing In Stolen Vehicle

A man and a woman are facing charges after they were allegedly found asleep inside a stolen vehicle.

On Wednesday at around noon, the Chatham-Kent Police Service was notified about a vehicle that had been stolen in Windsor had been tracked using GPS to an address on Mill Street East in Tilbury.

An officer attended the address and located the vehicle in a business parking lot. A man and a woman were arrested at the scene after they were allegedly found sleeping in the vehicle.

Both of the accused were bound by release orders not to associate with each other, and the man was wanted on three outstanding warrants held by Windsor Police Service, Halton Regional Police and the Ontario Provincial Police.

A 33-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman from Windsor are now charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000. The man was additionally charged with failing to comply with a release order and the woman was charged with failing to comply with an undertaking.

Both were released with conditions and a future court date.
