A local man is facing charges in connection with several thefts from vehicles in Chatham-Kent.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to a business on Park Street in Chatham at around 5 p.m. on Thursday following a recent theft.
During an investigation, officers learned that the suspect responsible was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for previously reported thefts from vehicles.
The 29-year-old Chatham-Kent man was later located by officers on patrol and taken into custody. He also allegedly attempted to provide false identification to police.
As a result, the accused is now charged with obstructing a police officer, two counts of possession of stolen property, and four counts of illegally possessing identity documents. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
