A pair of suspected shoplifters have been arrested in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent Police say a man walked into the 7-11 at the corner of Grand and St Clair and stole some electronic cables and chargers. Thanks to surveillance footage, the accused was tracked down and taken into custody about three hours later.

Meantime, two people are facing charges following a shoplifting complaint from Home Depot.

A 37-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property. However, authorities say it turns out the accused was also wanted in Sarnia and has since been turned over to their officers.

A 41-year-old woman who was with the man at the time is also facing charges, accused of breaking her probation orders.
