new-yearsWith New Year’s Eve tomorrow evening, Chatham-Kent Police wants everyone to be safe.

Constable Jason Herder says having a plan in place could save your life:

“It’s all about planning ahead. If you’re going to a party and you know that you’re going to be drinking, select someone to be your designated driver. There are also programs like Home James. You can contact them and they’ll get you and your vehicle home safe. It’s definitely not worth the risk – it’s all about arriving alive.”

He also says to keep your phone in your pocket while driving, and planning ahead for weather conditions if you’re the designated driver.
