Several local student artists are being recognized for their creativity and talent.
As part of the Here I Am Student Exhibition at the Thames Art Gallery, six high school students received awards for their artistic contributions during the opening reception on June 21.
Students Halle DeJonge and Lucy Thrift from Chatham Kent Secondary School (CKSS), as well as Makenna Mifflin from John McGregor Secondary School, all received a People’s Choice Award.
Awards of Excellence were also given to Laila Stewart from John McGregor and Scarlett Koole from CKSS.
As well, Quinn Stoner, who is graduating from Ursuline College Chatham, was awarded a $1,000 scholarship.
The Here I Am Student Exhibition runs from June 14 to August 11 with more than 100 artworks on display, created by over 70 CK high school students.
