Charges have been laid after a dispute between two men resulted in one of them almost being struck by a vehicle in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to a disturbance at a Chatham home on Saturday at around 2:15 p.m. after a man intentionally tried to drive his car into another man who was standing in the driveway. The vehicle narrowly missed the victim before leaving the scene
The driver then returned and attempted to enter the residence, resulting in a physical confrontation between the two men. During the incident, the victim was threatened with an object.
Police later located and arrested a suspect. The 40-year-old Chatham man is now charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle, assault, and assault with a weapon. He has since been released from custody and will answer the charges in court later this month.
