An altercation in Chatham has led to charges for a local man.
Police responded to a home shortly before 11 o’clock Wednesday night for a report of a dispute.
Authorities say a man went to the home to confront a woman. A verbal altercation turned physical and police say the woman was attacked.
Officers arrested the 35-year-old man, who has now been charged with one count of assault. He was released from custody with conditions and a date in court next month.
