AstraZeneca Available For those 40+

More Ontarians will soon be able to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

The Ministry of Health announced last night that it is lowering the minimum age for the AstraZeneca drug to those 40 and over, starting on Tuesday.

The shots are available at selected pharmacies and primary care practitioners.

The National Advisory Committee on Immunization had recommended the AstraZeneca version only for those 55 and over due to a slightly elevated risk of an extremely rare blood clot disorder.

But Health Canada has licensed the drug for anyone over 18.
