Chatham-Kent Police are teaming up with the local realtors to warn residents about a scam that is taking place.
It’s a rental scam where people see a nice property on Kijiji or Craigslist and inquire about it.
Unfortunately the people trying to rent it out don’t own it.
Eventually they get people to hand over a cash or a check and the money is gone.
There have been 7 instances of this scam already this year.
As always is the case, if it seems too good to be true.. It is.
