To lockdown or not to lockdown? That’s the question one West Kent Councillor is posing at tonight’s municipal council meeting.
With small businesses hurting due to provincial lock down regulations and measures, Chatham-Kent councillor Mark Authier is bringing in a motion at tonight’s council meeting to send a message to Ontario Premier Doug Ford to stop the lockdowns in Chatham-Kent.
The Ward 1 rep believes the municipality should be except from provincial lockdowns since local COVID numbers have remained relatively low.
It should provide some lively debate for council, as they discuss the balance between reducing the spread of COVID-19, restrictions for small businesses, and the need for the economy to continue on in a safe manner.
