Students from across Chatham-Kent took centre stage last night.
The Youth Community Recognition Awards were handed out at the Chatham Capitol Theatre. Principals from schools around CK were asked to nominate one or two students who have gone above and beyond to volunteer in their school and local community.
In all, 41 students were honoured for their dedication and positive impact.
This is the second year for the program, which is a partnership between the municipality and CN Railway, sponsored by Mainstreet Credit Union.
Each student received an engraved award, swag bag, and gift card to a local restaurant.
