Back to Nine Active COVID Cases in CK

A slight uptick in Chatham-Kent’s COVID numbers once again today.

Public Health is reporting three new infections and one recovery, raising the total number of active cases to nine.

The outbreak at Community Living has now been declared over. In all, three participants and one staff member with the Summer Program were affected.

Across Ontario, there are 324 new cases of COVID-19 being reported today – 234 of those are unvaccinated residents.

Health Minister Christine Elliott says 108 people are currently being treated for the virus in ICUs province-wide, only six of those patients have been fully vaccinated.

Chatham-Kent’s mobile vaccination team is on the move once again today, answering questions and doling out shots at Access Open Minds in downtown Chatham until noon. Starting at 1pm, staff will be shifting to The Wednesday Market on Longwoods Road, offering vaccinations for anyone 12 and older.
