Backup Plan for Rose Beach Line

It’s going to cost nearly three-quarters of a million dollars to pave a road outside Ridgetown.

Rose Beach Line near Antrim Road.

Rose Beach Line has been closed since November and won’t reopen until the Lake Erie Shoreline study is finished next year.

Some Ridgetown business owners have expressed concerns that they are being adversely affected by the closure.

Earlier this year, council asked administration for information on how much it would cost to pave McKinlay Road between Rose Beach Line and New Scotland Line, which would act as a temporary detour to Ridgetown.

Municipal officials say the road upgrade would cost approximately $716,000.
